day Trophy Roe Buck Hunt
The hunting is predominantly on more fertile areas
of open farmland. We have only limited opportunities
for this type of hunting, where chances are few and
offer perhaps only a couple of shots for the holiday. This
is very much a holiday for the specialist trophy
hunter, where perhaps the buck of a lifetime may
be possible - given a little luck.
Arrive Monday for lunch
and depart Saturday after lunch.

day Mixed Hunt for Bucks
and Stags
(September 1st - October 20th)
A stalking holiday to sample the 3 indigenous species
of Scottish deer. Timing is crucial as both red
and fallow must be in hard antler, but the roe buck
season finishes on 20th October.

Woodmill Shootings has in excess of 45,000 acres of stalking in Tayside and Fife. The stalking
is predominantly for roe deer, but we also have red and
fallow deer.
During the Roe Buck season the day starts at 4am with a
light breakfast before leaving for the morning stalk. We
return mid-morning for brunch and a rest. Early supper
is taken at 1730 before evening stalking. In the winter
during the Roe Doe season stalking times are a little more
civilised, starting at 6am and the evening meal at 8pm after
the evening stalk.
Our packages are for 2 hunters, with or without companions,
fully residential at our extremely comfortable country house,
Woodmill (see Accommodation
page).
It is important to mention that here at Woodmill Shootings
we choose not to hunt, shoot or fish on Sundays, and we prefer
all holidays to start on a Monday or Tuesday.

day Roe Buck Hunt

You would expect to shoot bucks from various areas
- hill, forest and open farmland. All heads will be
of varying quality and age.
